What is the question you want answered? How comfortable are you with uncertainty? What is your budget? There is no ‘best’ way to monitor biodiversity, but there are better or worse alternatives. Finding the better alternative will depend on your answer to those initial questions and, ultimately, the objective of your project.

Here, Dr Chris Jones (Arthur Rylah Institute) takes us through some common approaches used to address biodiversity monitoring problems, as well as some key pitfalls to avoid.
